I don't think I'm a Sony fan but I have had my share owning and abusing Sony Walkman cassette player and PS2. Now this LED display, SONY Bravia KDL-32EX650. I bought this because:
i) 32", vs 17" my Dell CRT
ii) 1080p
iii) It's a Sony
Now I heard or read somewhere, Sony's display technology isn't the best up to date even during my time in the showroom my eyes rest more on Philip's and Samsung's. Samsung doesn't have 32" at that time while images on Philips's 32" look sharper, lighter in weight but it's missing the yellow tone compared to Sony's. Yes I will agree with you if you say I wasted my money on Sony because there're better displays in term of picture quality out there around the same or less price. Then again it's A Sony.
Picture quality. Mind you this is my first non-CRT display so I can't compare with any other in its class. Like I said in showroom I spent my time more on other brands but deep inside all those glittering are just traps. The TV settings could be tweaked and made the unwanted soon outdated looks brilliant, the sample image is not 1080p or the cable is too long/crappy that it affect picture quality. The only way to know is to bring them all into your own testing lab. VS crt for the first time I think this TV cannot outperform my CRT in picture quality if the sample is not 720p/1080p that is. Sitting like 2-2.5 feet away from the screen sometimes I feel the glare if the room is not well lit. 1920x1080 resolution 32bit and 60Hz, this TV delivers. You can view 2 pages of MS Word sheet at 100%, open 2 browsers and have then side by side.
The Internet thing that comes with this TV, no I don't use it yet so I don't know how fussy it is to set up. I use this as my PC monitor so I don't need to bother with the TV's network settings. The salesman said this TV needs Sony's own keypad/input device to type so you cant plug in your favorite keyboard/mouse. Plus, if you find a content you want to save, where it'll go? I wanted to blast the people behind the development of this TV but since I don't use the TV's internet option so I can't. Sony got PS3 so it knows how important internal data storage/manipulation is. Maybe in future it's useful for me. SO I say skip this TV if you wants for display purpose only.
I travel quite a lot and this 'MONITOR' travels quite a distance from 2-3 places with the longest is 130km with all the Malaysian road specs. It does take a big space in your car's backseat but as long as there's no one there it'll be fine. I do worry about the vibration/shock from the car might cause some defect but so far non. I put it in the box that comes with the TV and off I go to where I want.

1. 1080p ready and 1920x1080 resolution 32bit color and 60Hz works.
2. VS CRT you got more frontal space saving for your keyboard and mouse. D
3. Save your electric bill
4. So far no burn in/artifact. Gaming for more than 2 hours a day and up to 12 hours.
5. With one HDMI cable you get both picture and sound from PC. One less wire to worry about and maybe speakers if you travel with this thing a lot.
CON:
1. Your're an idiot for choosing this TV as monitor only. Don't be like me.
2. Sound is bad for a Sony. My last Sony Walkman's earphone sounded better.
3. Expensive
4. Doesn't come with free HDMI cable.
5. it's too long width-wise, it takes more than one seat at the back of your car.
